Meet the Team

Helen Feeney

My name is Helen Feeney and I‘m the chairperson and founder of Bairnecessities.

My role was creating the organisation with help from Baby Bank Network in Bristol. I coordinate donations, apply for funding, ensure we meet Trading Standards and Health and Safety guidelines and continue to promote the organisation.

I’m a mum to three little monkeys, a dance teacher and work as a community nursery nurse alongside the Health Visitors. It is through my job that I realised just how many families are struggling locally and so I set up Bairnecessities to try and help.

Rosemary Johnston

My name is Rosemary Johnston, and I am the treasurer for Bairnecessities.

My role is to oversee all the financial aspects of the charity. I have 2 daughters and I am a grandmother and a great grandmother.

I am also a staff nurse and have been nursing for 36 years, I love reading, knitting, having fun with my great granddaughter, and learning new things.

I am passionate about every child having the best start in life and feel very privileged to be part of this fantastic charity which helps achieve this.

My name is Karen Brown and I am the Secretary for Bairnecessities Baby Bank.

Referrals Coordinator

I receive referrals from professionals and gather the items they require, handing over the packages to the professionals for them to deliver to the clients.

Referrals assistant and delivery driver.

I help Emma at the storage, gathering items ready to be collected. I also take referrals to professionals if required.

Wendy Cahoon

I am Wendy Cahoon and I am the Clothing Coordinator for Bairnecessities. This role involves sorting the clothing donations into age & gender, then bagging them up into individual packs for families when required.

Michelle

I am Michelle and I am lead of fundraising for Bairnecessities.

It is my job to come up with fundraising ideas and lead the team in raising vital funds for Bairnecessities to continue their vital work of supporting local families.

Kate Sanders

I am Kate Sanders and my role within Bairnecessities is to run the social media accounts.

I have recently qualified as a staff nurse within the NHS, I love caring for people and making a difference in their lives!

This is our committee which is just a small number of our committed volunteer team who help us support so many families.The team also includes many dedicated volunteers, mostly mums on maternity leave and/or with young children, putting in the hours to help ensure no family goes without.
