Bairnecessities is majority-run by volunteers who generously donate their time to various aspects of our organisation. Simply put, without our volunteers, we couldn’t do what we do.

As we continue to grow, we need even more help to ensure that we fulfil our purpose- to meet the needs of those families struggling to afford baby items. In return, volunteering with us will offer a chance to;

Fundraising and Events volunteer

Throughout the year, we hold fundraising events where we often need volunteers to help with a variety of things such as selling raffles, manning stalls or serving refreshments. You can also help us plan and run events, coming up with different ways to capture people’s attention.

We are looking for Fundraising and Events volunteers to help us come up with creative and exciting ways to raise funds for our charity and to help to plan events.

Main tasks

Coming up with ideas with our fundraising team
Helping organise and run events in the local area

Promotion and Marketing Volunteer

Do you love meeting new people? Have the gift of the gab? We are looking for a Promotion and Marketing volunteer to help us increase our visibility in the North East and beyond.

Main tasks

Promote Bairnecessities by connecting with the local community. This will involve outreach work and making contact with groups and professional partners such as:
Midwifery, Social Work or Health Visitor teams, as well as local partner charities and organisations.
Local community and social groups eg. football clubs, Women’s Institute groups, golf clubs.
Delivering presentations and promoting Bairnecessities to help recruit new referral partners and gain support of local groups.
Some travel is likely to be involved with this role

Local Donations Volunteer- Peterhead

Our local donations team coordinates the collection and drop-off of the pre-loved items that are generously donated to us. They must be comfortable managing their own Facebook page and inbox.

Main Tasks

Managing your local Facebook group including responding to queries, managing inbox messages and promoting any relevant information from the main Bairnecessities Facebook page.
Organising the collection and drop-off of items from donors
Completing basic checks to make sure items are in appropriate condition (training provided)
